• Welcome to the Standish HomepageWelcome to our Standish Homepage website. Our website is the home on the internet for the township of Standish, in Lancashire, England. It is here both to promote Standish to the rest of the world, and also to provide a useful on-line resource to the residents of Standish. The Standish Homepage has now been running for 8 years, and has had many thousands of visitors worldwide. Although the site has been quite quiet recently, we're hoping to add lots more to the site in the near future. We've been very busy re-writing the site, making it leaner, faster and more accessible. We've got some new features which we will be launching soon, but if you have any suggestions for improving our site further, please contact us.• Standish?Standish is a small township just north of Wigan, in the north-west of England, UK. It has a population of around 17,000, and has a long and interesting history dating back hundreds of years. Although Captain Myles Standish of the Mayflower did not originate in Standish, the history of his ancestors, the Standish family, Standish Hall and the village are intertwined. Standish has also seen the industrial revolution bring mining and textiles to the area, although these are now gone again as the information revolution has replaced older industries with a wide variety of other jobs.• The Standish HomepageThis site will also introduce you to Standish today, with our photo galleries, directories of local community organisations, local shops and services, pubs and clubs, hotels and guesthouses and restaurants, cafés and take-aways. We also have a calendar section listing local events and an internet links page, as well as much other Standish related information. What is the Standish Millennium Triptych? See it on the Triptych page.• The MessageboardGot something you want to get off your chest? Want to discuss Standish online? Do you want to join in the fun?
